Takegawara Onsen

The high-ceilinged lobby retains the image of the early Showa period and the famous suna-yu (sand bath) is where you lie on the sand wearing a yukata (Japanese bathrobe), and sand paddlers pour sand heated by the hot spring water over you.

Umi Jigoku

Although it looks cool, the temperature of the spring is 98 degrees Celsius and the depth is over 200 meters. The steam and fumaroles are so hot that you will sweat even in the wintertime. In 2009, it was designated a national scenic beauty spot.
