Nitta Shrine
Nitta Shrine is located at the top of Mt. Kamikame (height 70m) in the Satsumasendai city area and is a shrine dedicated to Ninigi no Mikoto. It still retains the dignity of being once known as the number one shrine in Satsuma. The Bo Odori and Yoko Odori dedicated at the Otaue Festival in June have been designated as intangible folk cultural assets by the prefecture.
Nagano Falls
A beautiful waterfall cascading down from a gap in the rocky mountains. Behind the basin of the waterfall, there is a deep cave, and you can see the falling waterfall from behind. It was also a filming location for the 2018 taiga drama "Saigodon".
Koshiki Island/Koshiki Ohashi Bridge
A picturesque remote island that is made up of three islands: Kamikoshikijima, Nakakoshikijima, and Shimokoshikijima, and has been designated as a national park. You can enjoy the rich seafood caught on the island with local cuisine and spend a relaxing time on a remote island. The scenery of impressive cliffs and huge rocks with strata over 100m in height is a sight to behold.
